Our Story

The River Romance Dinner Cruises team with a couple on a date in Redding, CA

The story of River Romance Dinner Cruises is a romantic one…

Founder, Todd LeBoeuf, was born on the water. From the time he could walk, he was fishing with his grandfather on the Sacramento river. At a young age he started his own fishing guide business. As he grew, he began searching for another way to get out on the river and share his knowledge and passion with others. He soon purchased a small drift boat from a friend and in 2001, River Romance Dinner Cruises was born.

In May 2001, Todd took his girlfriend, Linnea, out on their first date in Redding, California. Can you guess where he took her? On a Sacramento River dinner cruise, of course! She was quite impressed that he had come up with this amazing idea for a business, sharing his passion of the river. A year later, Linnea arrived at their river-side wedding on the boat that started it all. After they were married, Linnea helped take River Romance Dinner Cruises to the next level. From paper napkins and mismatched utensils to elegant cloth napkins and matching silverware, she elevated every last detail.

Nobody knew about River Romance back then, but now people book dinner cruises with us from all over the United States when they visit the Northstate. Our guests have found that we are quite a unique experience and they usually leave with a new appreciation for Northern California and the Sacramento River.

As the new and improved River Romance experience gained popularity, it became apparent that a larger boat was needed. To accommodate the growing interest in dinner cruises on the river, we had a custom five-person boat made so that couples, families, and groups of friends could now enjoy dining on the beautiful Sacramento River. Soon after, brunch cruises and scenic tours were added to the River Romance experience.

In 2021, Todd and Linnea retired and passed the torch to their youngest granddaughter, Rachel. Sharing her grandfather’s vision and passion for the Sacramento River, Rachel was thrilled to be able to carry on his legacy of sharing the treasures that the river has to offer with the Redding community and beyond.
